- Shared Interior Space: 896 sq. ft.
- Total Interior Heated & Cooled Space: 1,464 sq. ft.
Total Monthly Rent: $2,200
Step 2: Divide the Shared Space Equally
Since all roommates benefit from the shared living areas, we distribute the 896 sq. ft. equally among three tenants:
896 ÷ 3 = 299 sq. ft. per roommate
The personal space of each roommate is then calculated by adding the square footage of their room to their portion of the shared space.
